5 Creative Jobs You Can Do From Anywhere & Never Heard Of
Most of us want the opportunity to explore the world and all that it has to offer. The unfortunate reality is that most of us are stuck to time demanding jobs that give us 2 weeks off a year and barely enough income to take a proper vacation. For many, it can take years to save up for two weeks away in Europe or a trip to Disney World.
It is the fear of going against the norm that stops us from exploring the vastness of this globe. If you are reading this, then you have the dream that many of us have and have likely read other articles that give you examples of what you could be doing on the road to fund your travels.
We wanted to find less typical ways of making money online (we all know about surveys, VA’s, logo design and content writer).
Amazon Romance Writer (eBook)
I came across an article by Yuwanda Black who writes romance novels and sells them on Amazon, making over $3k per month on sales. And she’s not even a fiction writer. She had been a non-fiction writer who had never dabbled in writing romance fiction until she saw her sister have a great amount of success. On her second story written she had sold nearly 500 copies and made over $3000. She even said that she needed to ask Google ‘How to write your first romance novel’ to find out how to do this before began writing her first books.
If you enjoy writing and feel that you can tap into your inner romantic, then give this a try and sustain your travels by writing on the go. I’m sure you’ll come across all kinds of inspiration!
Average Salary: $40K

Beta Reader/Editor:
Are you an avid reader? Great with grammar? With the self-publishing industry growing steadily, there are lots of authors looking for beta-readers and editors to go over their book to make sure it’s reader ready. Set up a website and your own business or go on websites like Upwork to find freelancing opportunities. This can be quite lucrative as you can get anywhere from $1500+ per book that you edit.
Average Salary: $40K
Travel Limitations:
- Need computer and internet

Event Planner
Event planning is the perfect job for a highly organized, resourceful and creative person who loves people. There are two ways that being an Event Planner could help you get around the world:
You could be an event planner for 1-3 bigger events. Most of the year is spent in planning mode and so you can easily do the lion’s share of work on the road and accomplish even medium to large festivals with the help of some employees and volunteers. Hire a casual employee to be the community liaison and to connect with local businesses and check out venues and rentals as needed.
Or you could be an event planner (wedding, parties, etc) for resorts and companies around the world.
Average Salary: $44k
Travel Limitations:
- Will need to have access to dependable internet and a computer
- Will need to be able to travel back shortly before, during and immediately after the event
- If you work at a resort then you get to travel, but will be working full time hours as well

B-Roll Videographer:
If you have a nice camera that can take some great film and some editing skills, then you can record your travels and sell the videos as b-roll content (supplemental or alternative footage that is usually not the set or main scene itself).
Video is 2018 #1 push this year. I’ve been hearing this from all kinds of influencers. This doesn’t mean that written content is out, but it means that many more people will be looking to make great videos for their blog.
You can start your own website to download your videos (both free and paid depending on quality), you can put your videos on established websites, or you can do a membership website.
I knew someone who started a $10k per month membership site for his photos. He was a photographer that had tons of photos doing nothing on his computer and so decided he would compete with the big guys to lower the prices of stock photo. His membership was $1/month and he quickly brought that up to 10,000 subscribers through his email list and advertising on various platforms. You can do something similar, but I would charge more than $1 because you can and because videos are more involved. Then offer a full year plan at a slightly discounted price.
Average Salary: $120k (based on $5/month with 2000 subscribers)
Travel Limitations:
- Aside from the basic need for computer and internet, travel is actually great for this. You have chances to get a great variety of video: location, ethnicity, culture and food. You may need to be a little bold to get approval from others to record them.

Agent or Assistant to Agent:
Become an agent for an industry you know about. This could be for buskers, magicians, performers, writers/authors, speakers, actors, musicians, etc. Be creative to find new and amazing opportunities for your talent. Consider conventions, festival and events, conferences, big parties and other great places that people love to come together.
You’ll want to know a wide range of skills such as marketing and branding, knowledge of contracts, networking, organization and a strong back bone.
Average Salary: $87k
Travel Limitations:
- Some agent positions will demand that you go with your talent to gigs, but not all. If you book them a tour, then you may get to enjoy the tour with them.
- Much of your work will be done on a computer and if you don’t need to be present at their gigs, then you can complete your work from anywhere with internet as long as you bring your computer with you.

BONUS:
I would be remiss if I didn’t add Blogging as a bonus option! While this is well known, it continues to be a great source of income and the #1 way people can travel while making money. A blog doesn’t need to be on travel or food. It can be on anything that you are an ‘expert’ in and truly enjoy that also has a large audience base.
Any of the above businesses could and should utilize a blog. Many businesses are building blogs to enhance their current business. Not only does it corner you as an expert (even if you don’t necessarily think you are), but it also allows your business to be found more easily by more customers/clients because google searches and online research is the go to for most and will only increase.

If you have read through posts like this before, searching for a way to make this dream become a reality, then please take this opportunity to take a step in the right direction. Dedicate yourself to picking something that interests you and getting started on it TODAY…not tomorrow, not next week….today. I did that, procrastinated, for too many years and wish I had just picked something and stuck to it a long time ago. If I had, I’d be far more ahead and would have had many more amazing experiences.
Your biggest regret in life will be if you never actually tried. So, go try….go do!
Until next time, enjoy the journey!
